Saffire Restaurant & Bar has been a staple at The Factory in Franklin for 16 years, and is a sought-after destination for both locals and visitors to Franklin, TN. We are an intimate restaurant nestled in a historic setting. Our menu is an eclectic, modern take on Southern and American classics that combines locally-grown produce and meats, unique ingredients and indigenous flavors to deliver a truly culinary dining experience.



Chef: Michael Martin

Michael was born into a world of good food in Franklin, TN – both at the apron strings of his grandmother in her tiny kitchen and sitting on his mother’s kitchen counter.

He brought his passion and sensibility into the professional kitchen at an early age, becoming one of the youngest head chefs in Nashville at age 20. After making his way in New York and across the Atlantic, Michael eventually landed in Prague in 1993, where he was tapped to become the first American chef to the U.S. Ambassador. After his work at the Ambassador’s Residence, Michael went on to open Restaurant no.89, acclaimed by the Czech elite, the media and locals alike. Among the many other highlights in Prague, Michael worked on location for the filming of Last Holiday, cooking and styling much of the food seen in the film.

The Food Network eventually led him back home to Nashville, where Michael joined the team at Shop at Home and ran the culinary production of “From Emeril’s Kitchen" (where he also worked as an on-air chef).

Michael is also the Executive Chef for South Fork Catering Co. and continues to work with Chef Emeril Lagasse at the QVC shopping channel. He lives and cooks with his wife and two children in Franklin, and also gardens and repairs vintage motorcycles.

Managing Partner: Jennifer Masley

Creator and owner of the successful Jenergy Bar, Sip Organic Juice Bar(s), and soon-to-open EIO & THE HIVE, Jennifer Masley is eager to bring her years of knowledge and expertise in hospitality, sustainability, and community building to the established restaurant setting, at Saffire Restaurant & Bar. 

As an expert and influencer in the plant-based, raw food movement, Masley is dedicated to raising awareness on sustainability measures, local food systems and food justice, as well as providing her customers simple solutions to maintaining a vibrant life and mind. Masley truly lives by her personal-turned business motto: one body* one life and hopes to instill this culture and mindset at Saffire, while keeping the integrity of what the beloved restaurant means to its loyal following. 

Through thoughtful partnerships with local purveyors and farmers, and making meaningful connections with the people of Franklin, she has set the intention of building a community with Saffire at the heart.

Every Sunday from 3-4pm, Masley hosts Acme Radio’s "The Hive Hour", an in-depth look at all things Nashville has to offer in community building, local food and wellness. The program’s format includes thought-provoking interviews with local experts and entrepreneurs, and features such topics as food justice and politics, local farming and sustainability, community building and physical and emotional wellness. 



Proprietor: Tom Morales

A Tennessee native, Tom Morales is the founder of the TomKats Hospitality Group that originated over 30 years ago as a backstage music event catering company.

His love for the city and dedication to its continued growth has led to a number of nationally-acclaimed restaurants, including Saffire Restaurant & Bar, The Southern Steak & Oyster, Acme Feed & Seed and Southernaire Market.

Over the years Morales has been awarded many accolades, most recently being named on Restaurant Business’s Power 20 List (2016), Nashville Business Journal’s “Power 100” list (2015 & 2016), nominated for as “Entrepreneur of the Year” by the NEXT Awards (2015), and taking home the District’s “Spirit of the District” award (2014).
